I completely agree. This state is so absurd. In the end, though, I blame the batshit constitution that allows like 4 people to sign a napkin and get an initiative on the ballot to amend the constitution.
Beginning of California correcting itself:
1) Constitutional convention to revise the Constitution to eliminate the initiative process
2) Removing term limits on state legislators
