Not the outcomes I was expecting tbh. Crimea seemed it was in the bag for the Russians from the start, but away from that the Russians had much more difficulty and obtained far less land than anyone was expecting at the outset. Russia is poised to steamroll now but the conflict is about to be wrapped up as per the White House so Ukraine seems to have done a fairly good job in spite of all the graft and grift. 1. The Soviet-Soviets were not paranoid and did not overspend on defense. They did the math right and built a MIC for proper deep war and the necessary production requirements of same. 2. The depth of the Russian officer corp was and is monstrously professional and fit for purpose as evidence by the near zero civilian casualties in Ukraine the Surovkin line. The New Look reforms fucked up the MIC more than a little by trying to emulate STUPID Western procurement strategies but Serdyukov was shunted to the side before he could do lasting damage. He did have some successes. The lower ranks went professional and cadre units stopped being a thing.

3. Russia has raped this entire war. All NATO stockpiles were emptied. The US bought up every arsenal from S.America and Africa to supply Ukraine. Even ordinance from India and Pakistan. The entire planet sent everything they had and Russia did so well it has only needed one round of mobilization. You all shot your load and Russia is still standing.

4. Ukrops are a US proxy force. The actual US would do no better an likely worse as you would never keep fighting with Ukrainian levels of losses. The West is no panicked and the Eurocucks want to triple defense spending.
