reservoir dogs is an incredible debut on no budget (allowing that i don't like torture stuff so i won't rewatch it becuase of that), kill bill is fantastic, jackie brown and pulp fiction are solid, django unchained shouldn't have been made but waltz, dicaprio and kerry washington were great. once upon a time does a great job of putting you into the time period. so disagree

Pretty much agree word for word, but you’re underselling Pulp. One of the most influential movies of all time. They made “witty gangster” films for decades after that (would include Sopranos here too).

thanks, agreed. i was trying to undersell all of it, as i'm a huge fan. and also pulp was so influential that you maybe forget that watching it now - because so much stuff that got made afterwards copied aspects of it.

tarantino is clearly a guy who loves film - even if his taste is sometimes questionable with exploitation and pulp in the genre sense - and i'll watch everything he does. ebert is the GOAT and he loved pulp, although he did say "this is either the worst or the best film of the year" https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/pulp-fiction-1994

also, absolutely love watching uma thurman in his stuff - so that's an extra point for pulp for sure

I don't care if OP is flame or if he knows nothing about Film, but this opinion should be 100% acceptable imo. There should be no sacred Gen X forcefield protecting stuff like Tarantino or Nirvana. There should be no sacred cows.

I think his name just sounds cool and people like saying it. And Weinstein was good at marketing his stuff. That's explains like 30% of his popularity.

Pulp Fiction is entertaining and well-made imo. Also think about how well it lends itself to being edited for Commercials. It takes you back to the 90s where you could just imagine yourself watching Films like Forrest Gump or Pulp Fiction on cable with Commercials.
