I've only dated the more Russified Ukrainians. they love Ukraine and despise Russia but speak and indenting as Russians. they are sweet but extremely tough and demanding on so many levels that Americans are not (as a former FWB told me, "feminism lets men off the hook")
to me they don't hate any other races, they just have a totally juvenile attitude towards everyone else (even white Americans) due to lack of exposure. it's pretty grade school level and with some chatting they are very human about it all at the end of the day
I have basically one "good" Ukrainian friend, but many other friends. it's good and they are fun, but still i often meet expats with whom I click better with in 15 minutes

Many recognize this is bullshit, and just embrace Russian culture. These people are smart. But let's focus on the Ukrainians that don't do that.
The Ukrainian language is basically Russian ebonics. It is largely like Russian, and in fact I can mostly understand it. It sounds significantly worse and there's basically no advantages to it. Most culture in the area historically is Russian, not Ukrainian, but they don't worry about such details.
Speaking of culture, the Ukrainian is significantly less intellectual and all the crappy things about Russian culture are magnified. People fight a lot over stupid crap. People argue over basically anything and everything, and it tends to escalate quickly. In much of Ukraine you see 8 year olds skipping school and drinking. It is significantly poorer than Russia (not surprisingly). They are massively anti-semitic, anti-Russian, and truthfully, they don't generally like Americans either. Who do they like? Oddly, the Germans. Mostly because they want to be like them, but without the whole "hard working" thing.
Also, Ukrainians love the concept of something for nothing. They think everything is just about getting a handout from someone. So they think if they embrace the EU the EU will give them money and everything will be great.
Now the positive: their women really are super hot. That is really about it. |
