The differentiation of the Godhead into Father-Son-HS, the incarnation of the son and his suffering... these things really give Christians space and traction to express anger and frustration at God.
Jesus wept when Lazarus died. He felt, deeply, the loss that humans feel. The seeming injustice of God. And his whole incarnational purpose was to rectify this, to redeem the suffering. In a sense, he functions kind of oppositionally to God the Father. That skirts on blasphemy, but its real nonetheless.
Islam, with their all-everything Allah, have no theological space to question or bristle against God's will. And never having been incarnate, Allah seems far more removed and indifferent. Your kid can get dragged under a Ford Lightning for two blocks, and all you can be is "satisfied" |
