Jordan’s son getting busted for coke got me thinking. MJ worshipped his dad and his dad seemed like a great dude who raised him right, but MJ’s a psycho and seems like an awful father who failed where his dad succeeded. Trump similarly appears to be one of those shithead boomer dads that viewed his sons though his own anxieties and vanities about aging, and basically turned them into toadies who depend on him. We don’t even have to get into Ivanka, but can stipulate that opinions differ. Lol Tiffany. To the extent Barron amounts to anything it doesn’t seem that Donald was involved at all for most of it eg him speaking with Slovenian accent as an 8 year old. Clinton also pretty definitionally was not a great dad. Endless list of boomer celebrities and corporate titans who cheated on their wives and destroyed their families. Inb4 Obama, who is pretty clearly a betadork and appears to be more of a second mom and he of course has no sons, so he’s playing from the woman’s tees.
Only one I can come up with is Rob Lowe who seems like he fully and genuinely loves his sons, and he was born in 64 which I am now fully convinced is past the Gen X cutoff. We should all agree that it’s either the Beatles on Ed Sullivan or the Kennedy assassination. But seriously, I can’t think of any boomers. Then you look at Gen X and Elder Millennials and it’s like most of them: McConaughey clearly loves his kids and takes them everywhere, so many athletes, eg Steph Curry, Beckham and LeBron obviously love their kids, Matt Damon is constantly bringing up whatever dumb stories about his kids, like it’s not hard to think of them.
Seems clear to me that egomaniac boomers were SPS dads.
