an automatic 1.5 yards would be worth mountains of cash to an NFL team. you'd start each series at first and 8.5, you'd convert automatically on some 4th downs no matter where you were on the field, and first and goal at the five is an automatic touchdown. |

the point he is illustrating was obvious to every reader, but only you needed to be a pedant about it. |

how much that would be worth would depend on the team and that player (is he immune from injury? how many years can he do this?). but every team would trade this rule for 1 roster spot and the league minimum salary cap hit. |

An RB who consistently gives you 1.5 yards would be a good pick up, but not in the MVP race or anything. Teams can already tush push for a yard most of the time when needed. |
