i disagree with you about schmidt's motivations re: "based", but i think we have very different definitions of that term. if you are using "forward thinking" as simply "obsessed with innovation of control technologies without concern of consequence" i guess that's accurate, but that would be a weird use of the term imo. i think he's a lizard man who only cares about "systems" which can be used to control people. he views ukraine as his testing ground for drones where his machines murder huge number of slavs

i find a world only about simple will to power to be both depressing and boring (which is why i hated game of thrones from the first episode and stopped watching). i care more about questions of meaning and God, although of course it's no fun for anyone to be dominated by others |
