He didn't even cheat these guys because all of this information was completely public knowledge. If you're big money VC and you gamble on a drug that has already failed 4 tests, you're not getting "cheated" you're just taking a calculated risk. All that info is being disclosed. VCs make insanely risky and stupid bets all the time (most of them are not actually intelligent or savvy at all)
He'd already be in prison if he actually lied to and cheated venture capitalists (who are all richer and more powerful and connected than he is) |

In general, IPOs aimed at the general public are almost always at least a little bit sketchy, but that's not what happened here. Probably close to zero individual layperson investors bought into this IPO (I'm not sure if they even gave individual investors access to it) |
