nobody at this point can make a joke at this idiot's expense without him posting their name/info (or, hilariously, what he thinks is their name/info). it's funny because i think everyone laughs it off (i do, and i am the subject of a lot of it), but it potentially has a chilling effect on the discourse. there's a reason that there is ONE RULE (albeit that never gets enforced against him, but still).
and for the record, he made a poast recently where he described my kids. if it were anyone but spaceporn (who is, of course, a factotum), i would have called the authorities. |

In addition to the spam that is difficult to keep up with, poasters have shifted tactics to include outing information in their monikers and the email line. Currently it is nearly impossible for mods to fully enforce the one rule due to the limitations of their mod powers.
Rach has apparently received "multiple" emails recently complaining about the increased outing activity on the board. It is clear that mods need additional powers to be able to enforce the one rule. He is currently weighing how far to go in granting those additional powers- whether it be through temporary bans or permanent IP bans.
I anticipate a decision will be made and announced at some point today.
