I showed up early to secure my place at the front of the line for a docket sounding, and some hoodrat came in wearing a hat. The deputy told him to take it off, he refused, and the deputy escalated the situation until the hoodrat's impulses took over. The two wound up on the ground fighting for a couple seconds until the deputy yelled "spray." I had already learned the hard way what that means, but I couldn't turn my head quick enough and caught some.
My first encounter with pepper spray was far worse. That time, I was working as an EMT at a large concert venue and saw a massive fight break out. Some scumbag punched a cop in the face & broke his nose, and I got nailed by the pepper spray when a couple other cops decided to douse the whole pile & everyone around it. After washing my eyes out, I treated the cop and the guy who punched him... the cops did their shady "hey go get that taken care of & we'll meet you over at the EMS building with the suspect in a couple minutes" bullshit. Of course, the suspect got the absolute shit beaten out of him after he, uh, "tripped" on the way back to our office. |

Date: June 18th, 2024 12:31 PM Author: Walnut karate chapel my friend started out as a plaintff's side shitlaw associate so they gave him all the dog cases where the client wouldn't settle but had a shit case. sometimes it's safer to try the case and lose it rather than try to fire the client. my friend had like 12-15 jury trials his first year. lost nearly all of them.
anyway, he tried a case and the jury retired. the judge asked the lawyers to stick around the courthouse. my friend walked down the hall, pulled out the sports page, and sat down to shit. it was about 5 minutes after the jury left the court room. he was maybe 45-60 seconds into dumping when the PA system said, "Will Mr. [shitlaw associate] please report back to Courtroom 4." lol. the jury deliberated, came to a verdict, and delivered it in less than ten minutes total. my friend said that the only thing that bothered him was that he didn't have time to properly shit. |
