Asheville, NC is accessible only by air. π³ No electricity, no gas, no food or running water, no banks, no school, what about hospitals??? The list is endless. How do you start over? It's mindblowing. And the small towns around Asheville not in any better shape.

Isn't it strange the MSM is ignoring this story?

I've heard some conspiracizing about this being different from Katrina because it affects rural areas rather than cities, but I think the main difference--as someone who was on Katrina coverage duty during and after the storm--is that with Katrina, there was advanced worry in the days before that the New Orleans levees would break, so organizations had time to stand up coverage. This time the storm surprised us, and now it's hard to get people in to the worst affected areas.

MSM hates white people.

Asheville itself is a little rough rn but there's no panic from what I saw. Loads of foot traffic, long lines around the few stores still open, gas stations have empty tanks, people collecting water from wherever they can find it. Boomer neighborhoods were 180 - everyone chipping in to clear roads, bbq's fired up to grill meat before it goes bad, lots of charity. Communities on the outskirts otoh got wiped out, Black Mountain, Swannanoa, Montreat, they're FUKT, still waiting on air medevac.
