Started teaching a “live” winter class at a top state university, horrifying

Date: January 14th, 2025 5:57 PM Author: the boy toy I would think the people in winter classes are there because they want to be—to get ahead and graduate early. If they were behind they wouldn’t care to catch up and would just simply graduate late. This is a top 20 state university not some community college.
No one hands anything in on time. One kid I simply asked him if he read the assigned reading bc he apparently he didn’t. He gets in a squatting position and says “somebody go get Professor’s girl! She’s out there dancing like a stripper!” The whole class started screaming and laughing and then chanting something.
I knew standards were lower but this is HS type nonsense. And their all expect A’s. |

Half the class didn’t even buy the books even after I threatened them with deadlines of purchase and grade reductions. No one cares about the actual work anymore, it’s all about a passing grade.
