Years ago we had a case involving a claim of selective prosecution and it took almost two months of two competent paralegals doing research to find the six cases in the history of our state where such a claim was successful. I just asked Westlaw Edge using natural language to tell me how many cases it had a record of in my state where a claim of successful prosecution succeeded. In under 30 seconds it came back with eight (including the six it took us two months to find) complete with citations, case summaries, and other information. We had to resort to searching state district court cases which regular Westlaw didn’t have. But Westlaw edge had them including two we didn’t find.
