Really hope not. And I can't stand dems. But there's honestly almost nothing worse than saying "yes" to corruption, much less brazen and obscene corruption. It's more inimical to functioning society than lunatic ideas

People are pissed about Paxton about being corrupt and Greg Abbott about the h1bs. I can’t blame them but it would be tragic. It would be due to (R)s not voting though.
it’s an encapsulation of all of that information though, distilled down to a single number. much better than listing to a handful of pollsters and pundits and thinking they know anything

It's actually not though. It's been proven to be inaccurate countless times and no one takes it seriously except gambling addicts and partisan fanatics. This is low IQ freshman logic writ large. Pumo self outs as midwit, news at 11
they're all awful ways of predicting who will win, that's why they're all wrong all the time. but at least polls are just limited to the actual people who will be voting.

The polls are understood to be inaccurate by the people whom conduct the polls. They all openly admit that they cannot reach a broad segment of the population. All polls have raw data, and then they are adjusted for entirely subjective reasons and based on guesswork, as to what the real electorate looks like. But no amount of artisanal speculation can account for the fact that millions of voters cannot be reached, like an uncontacted tribe in the Amazon. Pollsters do not know how many of these people are out there, what they're feeling, or whom they're voting for. So to that end all major polls involve a massive amount of speculation.
Factually, nearly every pollster has undercounted Republicans in the last 5 major national elections. But as Nate Silver points out, there are elections where Democrats have been undercounted as well. We simply do not know, and cannot know, until the votes are counted, what the uncontacted tribe actually did in the voting booth. It's an I for incomplete. To the extent that we can derive anything from the polls, it's that of the people they were able to reach, those people are heavily split for Democrats. So that part is real. It's that plus (mystery sum). And Polymarket certainly cannot tell us anything we don't know about what we don't know.

I think Abbott pulls it off in part because Talarico likely wins and there are conservative leaning voters who want to hedge their bets
I think it’s the same reason you’ll likely see the inverse in Iowa where the Dem seems like a lock to win the governor but the Dems have generally not been favored to flip the senate seat
