I just moved to the Bay Area.

But if I can't find anything in a year, I might have to consider drastic measures. I know the rest of the country is also suffering from ITE, but I'm thinking my job prospects would be slightly better if I go to Texas or some shit like that.

Does it make sense to move somewhere w/o a job lined up, or would I be better served just staying put?

it will unquestionably enhance your chances for non-law gigs. applying for work from a different state ite is a HUGE hindrance.

i think you should stay in the bay area and attend two law schools - one right after the other. the caliber of law school doesn't matter as much as the prestige of having two JDs. two JDs not only guarantees you a job when you graduate from your second law school: it also means you get double the salary.

that makes sense. but consider dude is in ca, and the market isn't, which is to say it's pure shit. he's depleting finite resources in his current circumstance, so it might just make sense to move to where there are more promising opportunities. if he's bust in a year and has to fall back on friends and family, it's not like he can't return to ca.

ITE, it really doesn't make sense to move to any city worth living in without something lined up. Savings evaporate pretty quick when there's nothing coming in.

it can be kind of a gamble to move somewhere without a job lined up, but I know people who did it just fine. I ended up ok, but it was a pain in the ass for a while due to ITE.
