It's a shit job if it doesn't lead to an executive position and it has the same ageism problem: at 40, you're out. The competition that you face in order to get into real management roles is different: less intelligent than engineers, but more socially skilled. |

My boss's boss is the Chief Marketing Officer and that's the office I'm gunning to end up in 10-15 years from now (at this company or a different one). The path there is clear enough, I think. |
