I had never before, nor since, really been directly underneath such a person. I see now that when people complain about "law", there are really just couching healthy anti-semitism in general terms.

he was very legalistic and argumentative. all lawyers are, but he was in parts of life that do not require this.
massively insecure. appearance-obsessed. needed to note and record everything, keep records of bullshit that was said. Track secretaries bathroom visits. Re-do work the same way it had already been done.
"holiday" lunch once and he argued for 45 minutes with waitstaff about sending back a series of wine bottles he did not like.
incapable of acknowledging any mistake he made, eager to exaggerate the mistakes of others. just kind of miserable. cannot believe i lasted 7 months, but I was young and scared of going solo
you really do not have to work with such people, no matter your field |
