Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me. They possess and enjoy early, and it does something to them, makes them soft where we are hard, and cynical where we are trustful, in a way that, unless you were born rich, it is very difficult to understand. They think, deep in their hearts, that they are better than we are because we had to discover the compensations and refuges of life for ourselves. Even when they enter deep into our world or sink below us, they still think that they are better than we are. They are different. — Scott Fitzgerald

it's about injecting HIV-style degeneracy into the remnants of the white upper middle class under the guise of a show about the leisure activities of the rich and attractive
every season has to be more pozzed than the previous one. season 4 will feature transsexual surgery on minors and beastiality

you can borrow my pw. it's extraordinarily XO to the point it's hard to believe it got made.
all the seasons touch on capricious rich libs moralizing as they enjoy luxury provided by working class people who must politely smile and nod as the libs gripe about their bs. first season features stuff like (1) young white men struggling with finding belonging, (2) bizshrews nonchantly disregarding house husbands anxieties, (3) sex with men, (4-7) dondarrio and sweeneys ample cans, plus many more.
second season is literally WGWAG

It's not trojan horsing anything. The whole style of "humor" and target audience is that of a New Yorker cartoon with a coat of paint inspired by a Wes Anderson film. "Hah, those zany White Liberals! I am Not Like Them at all!"
That's to say nothing of the fact that it's neither actually funny nor dramatic, and a show generally needs one or the other to be engaging. The full extent of the jokes is just someone nodding along and thinking "haha wow lol theyre crazy lol".
Imagine watching this show in 20 years. Even something like Arrested Development which has a ton of period jokes that will be jibberish to zoomers was built on top of actual gags and characters who go beyond a one line archetype so it will always find an audience.

my top shows are:
Mad Men
The Witcher (season 1, then it sucked)
Fallout (my favorite recent show)
Dragon Show (I quit after ~season 3/4, prefer the books, never saw the terrible ending)
Sons of Anarchy (this show is mostly terrible but appeals to me as a Scumbag)
Lost (only good for 2 seasons then garbage)
Breaking Bad (first 2 are peak, 3 sucked, 4 had a great ending, didn't 'get' 5 at all)
Battlestar Galactica (the 2000s remake)
True Detective (season 1 obviously, I watched 2 and 3 but don't remember much, didn't care)
Daredevil
I think that's most of the shows I have ever seen more than 1 episode of.

Fallout is truly 180 and criminally underrated.
I'm not someone like you who puts big budget "prestige TV" in some special reverential tier.
Also Battlestar Galactica is amazing and not slop. Some of the others are slop.

This is a major reductionist view of the show. My only real complaint is it is constantly advocating for race mixing, which is abhorrent. But you could easily take your same methodology of critique and apply it to any show in existence by casting it through the lens of conservative critique. You could come up with a hundred catch phrases why not to watch a show for every show that's out right now, but that doesn't tell you anything about whether they're good or not.
It's extremely well written, wildly entertaining, and breaks countless taboos of DOA lib storytelling in our current time.
Most people fail to understand that the underlying message of the show is that 1950s white America is uniquely poised to save the mudraces from themselves via a strict implementation of high trust values. A 180 conservative takeaway if I do say so myself.

I never came to any conclusions about why you or anyone liked White Lotus. I just remarked that you tend to like the big budget, brand name stuff. Nothing wrong with that but it is noteworthy.
I do think the Ghoul is going to go deeper into his Commie views. I like how they made him an All American redneck guy headed for full blown Marxism. But he's also an amoral baddie. We'll see where it all goes.
The black guy was the weakest character but his scenes were at least entertaining.
While the show may blame corporate greed for everyone's problems it really does emphasize that the Pilgrims had it right and that high trust whites can show up to any clusterfuck and eventually sort it out. It's an ode to colonization. Also to anyone who thinks the main character's arc makes her a Pollyanna the whole backdrop of her plot is that she's slowly becoming influenced by her apocalyptic surroundings. The struggle between her virtuous upbringing and the fucked up reality of real life. I think anyone who sweeps her under the rug as one dimensional didn't understand the show.

I don’t think it’s “about” anything and that’s why I like it. It genuinely inspires a range of reactions from people , there is not really any “suppposed to like” or “supposed to hate” characters.
If this season has a theme it’s the trappings of identity as a mental prison.
