Van Aken Boulevard cuts through Shaker Heights in a East-West axis. The Rapid Transit light rail trains travel along the tracks on Van Aken. Although the differences are not marked, Shaker Heights residents north of Van Aken are generally more affluent and tend to be white. South of it, there are more black people.

They are tree-lined, tranquil, and a little bit on the broad side. You'll also notice that houses are uniformly located a certain amount of distance from the curb.
