The dude was perfectly dressed and came off like an 80's smooth talking Wall Street guy - graduated from Harvard MBA. Underneath that carefully crafted veneer or respectability however was little more than a fucking thief.
He bought a junk molecule from a big pharma company for like 20-40 million or so and then IPO'd his BioTech company at a billion dollar valuation because it had promise in treating a major disease - it was pretty obvious it wasn't going to work and only in early stage trials. Sold a boatload of stock after the IPO lockup, a few months later the compound failed in Stage II or something like that and the stock price went down 99% - He has since moved onto more grifts. |
