Once you're on the clock, you cannot leave Everest base camp for any reason, or you forfeit the money.
The $4M is tax free.

I'm pretty sure they have solar panels or generators or something. And they definitely have some kind of satellite communications. Again, you can arrange for whatever you can arrange for. Nothing is provided or excluded by the hypo.
Sure. You're not fronted any money and don't have much time to make arrangements before the clock starts, but no reason you can't do that as far as I can tell.

The hypo does not grant any visas/permits. That's up to you. I think Nepal does visa on arrival, though you'll have to take the risks associated with overstaying your visa. I can't imagine that's significant there. It could be significant on the China/Tiber side. |
