You dont have to like it, but you do have to look around and realize the are few other good chairs out there for you to take.
You typical mass tort PI boutique is a 20-50 lawyer firm. They have virtually zero turnover because the partners are making 10 million a year and the tiny number of associates are all expert senior litigators and are virtually all being groomed for partnership, which is the only reason they left ID or BIGLAW. They rarely bring in a newbie because they have no need for such people.
The other alternative in the world of PI is a second tier firm that does car accidents and trip and fall BS. These firms are even smaller and are full of TTT grads and are the ones that hire newbies in droves because they measure turnover in months.

“it appears unconscionable that a student loan indebtedness could go from $270,000 to $435,000 in four years.”
I was inclined to agree, but that's only about 12.7% per year compounded.
Were I him, I wouldn't pay a fucking dime. There's a point where it's not worth the effort.

The judges who ignored C&F's recommendation to admit him are going to get the smack down on this from an Appeals Court.
The dude could have gotten rid of all the private loans before the 2005 bankruptcy laws had changed and HE CHOSE not to because he wants to repay the debt.
Guy clearly has some issues, but denying him a license is fucking asstarded and in the end fucks him and Sallie Mae.

dude was probably too lazy to declare bankruptcy. lookat how many times he's failed the bar.
his credit is likely shit too so declaring wouldnt have hurt him to declare.

you have a gov't job lined up?
mine are under the fed gov't. fed is the lender.
when i go to the ed.gov site, the payment option doesn't show up in the drop down menu. i'm going to have to call next week and figure out how to get it. it says you need a "partial financial hardship" to qualify. i don't knw what that maens and the site doesn't define it.
