Both of my kids had great soccer weekends.

Both had breakout games.
My 10 year old daughter is exceptionally athletic but has only been playing soccer for about 1 year. The coach has had her playing mostly in defense and she's been pretty reluctant to dribble or do anything offensively. Instead she'd mostly made great defensive plays and immediately distributed the ball to the midfield.
Something clicked with her and she realized that she's faster than everyone else. She started dribbling out of the back, beating multiple players on the other team and becoming part of the offense. It was truly a joy to watch.
My son had a monster game. He'd been a little inconsistent and timid sometimes not really mixing it up. The coach put him at center mid and he was just all over the place on both sides of the field. Making great defense plays and also using his skills and touch to dribble through the midfield and distribute. He scored a sensational goal in the 2nd half. The ball was played to him from the defense, he dribbled the rest of the field and blasted it in.
