Were they lost lost, or you just gave up looking for the ball after 1 minute because people were waiting behind you

you're probably right. scorecard from our club championship semis today is below. Last weekend I lost 3 and 2 to the guy who shot 41 on the front and lost 7 and 6 today. positive is the round, even if completed, would have been well under the 5.5 hour norm for Cali golf

Every ten rounds or so I'll show up feeling good and BAM duck hooks on every shot completely out of nowhere.

I usually start drinking early and it just becomes a shitty round by the back 9 but I can easily lose 3 to 6 balls first. And then next round it's completely gone.

Probably because you didn't stretch your legs/hips out and are standing too close to the ball, too upright or bending knees too much to compensate for being tight

It's usually the grip IMO. I fought a slice for years and eventually moved to a very strong grip that now feels natural. Sometimes I take it too far and have to dial it back in

But I am old and kind of stiff anymore so you may have a point

I mean it definitely could be the grip causing hooks (club face is closed early so shift the hands slightly clockwise) but seems weird you'd show up and randomly have a different grip on tee 1
