Date: September 10th, 2020 9:03 PM Author: splenetic organic girlfriend By refusing to sign the anti-drug pledge, Randall “Pink” Floyd shows he’s a Loser instead of a Jock. A Jock would just sign the pledge and go get high an hour later and laugh about the whole thing. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=4622175&forum_id=2#40901434) |

and Pink is the hub in a wheel of groups and subplots that makes the movie as a whole work. you can't weave in and out of the different cliques without some common elements. it would've been much clunkier that way and turned out like some stoner pulp fiction.

Date: September 11th, 2020 6:07 PM Author: umber beady-eyed ticket booth bc I went to one of the five snottiest prep schools in the country and there’s more to “prep” than money, tho money is important and Floyd gives off the aroma all film of coming from just a bit more than the other guys (I am thinking about the scene in the car at the party talking about playing next season or quitting the team)
|
|
Date: September 11th, 2020 6:09 PM Author: splenetic organic girlfriend Fair enough, he does have some of the Noblesse Oblige of the Prep, but it’s still bad writing cause he shouldn’t be a Prep in a middle-class Houston suburb in the 70s. Date: September 11th, 2020 6:07 PM Author: Rose yarmulke foreskin when the movie starts, randy floyd is "in between" cliques and u can tell he became a stoner during junior year & realized he doesn't think sports are that important. he wants to get high and have interesting conversations with these guys: https://imgur.com/a/LR5wEUf |

Date: September 11th, 2020 6:33 PM Author: Rose yarmulke foreskin the guys like floyd, pickerson, and slater are UMC - you can tell they are coming from better backgrounds than some of the jocks such as these three:

|
Date: September 11th, 2020 6:13 PM Author: milky useless azn I’d put Pickford as a prep at least compared to the others in the movie. The other two dorks tread a fine line between nerd and loser.
Edit, nm Pickford is a scumbag. Changed my mind.
Edit 2: nah he’s a prep |
|
Date: September 11th, 2020 6:19 PM Author: umber beady-eyed ticket booth Pickford is a Prep. Well-dressed, somewhat affluent background. Way too concerned with UMC mores to be a Scumbag, who would just let them drop the kegs in the yard, yell Fuck You to his parents and dare them to do something about it
One of my best friends growing up looked almost exactly like Pickford |
|
Date: September 11th, 2020 6:22 PM Author: Rose yarmulke foreskin Pickford isn't a dork - him and Slater are the most hardcore stoners but are both philosophy types / headed to college. basically cool hippies but kind of rich & not as liberal (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=4622175&forum_id=2#40905901) |
|

Slater and Floyd, a little
And Affleck, unfortunately |
|
Date: September 11th, 2020 6:48 PM Author: Rose yarmulke foreskin Affleck really? maybe but to me some of the jocks are more like hanging around in the city, not going to college, more working class type, such as McConaughey's character (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=4622175&forum_id=2#40906016) |

Date: September 13th, 2020 7:08 AM Author: umber beady-eyed ticket booth 1. Joey Lauren Adams at her absolute hottest. 23yo when filmed but she looks younger. Edible.
2. Deena Martin is the bigger blonde, extremely hot, and a defensible choice. She was only in two movies in her life.
3. Parker Posey is hot but vocal aggressive bitchy chicks aren’t usually my type.
4. Anyone who picks Jodi needs a T shot stat.
Wild Card. Christine Harnos might be the most classically beautiful out of all of them. But we don’t see enough of her.

Date: September 11th, 2020 7:47 PM Author: milky useless azn Pink if anything is an ascended jock. If you’ve ever played sports you’d know the jocks all fucking hate the coaches. Pink knows though he has the coach by the balls because the team is fucked without him so he can throw the letter back in the coach’s face literally and knows he won’t do shit. Any of the other jocks did that and they’d get made an example of. Prob kicked off the team.
Also the black kid. They can do whatever they want and the coaches kids their ass but then we’re talking about blacks and not jocks. |
