The radical left in France consists of a very recent and shaky alliance between: militant Jihadis who want to turn France into a literal caliphate and install Sharia law, radical Marxists who want 100% taxes and to expropriate all private property to be redistributed how they please, feminists and wokesters who want everything to be gay and trans, and hardcore climate change people who want to ban all petroleum. Imagine if in the US this "group" of batshit insane whatchamacallits was 60% of the democratic party. In the US they are like 10% at most and the moderates just pay lip service to all this stuff with no intention of ever acting on it (although obviously Biden Term 2 would 100% involve these crazy people installing their agenda while the Biden corpse pops champagne bottles).

So does RN have a chance at an absolute majority? Yes, if voters don't want this basket of madness. RN is getting many, many seats. They absolutely could win it all if the voters look at the extremists Macron told them to vote for and go, "huh, yeah, no, no thanks." Then Macron will look like an absolute clown for calling this snap election. His whole strategy has been, "aren't RN in the minority in this country? No one will ever vote for them." But he could be sorely wrong. I think better than 50/50 odds at an absolute majority. It also could be interesting if RN is really close to the majority and they form an alliance with LR (moderate neocons). Overall I think RN will have a HUGE night and only good things will happen.

In Germany the far right has 10% of seats. In the UK, 1%. French far right just won 24% of seats. Of the 3 major European powers, so not including Italy Sweden Spain Netherlands or any of the eastern bloc countries, France is by far leading the charge, here.
