when i glance at how the war in being covered in western media, it seems silly and stale/outdated. i can't imagine trying to get 'news' about the war from those places. you have to get closer to the actual sources near the conflict. |

Date: June 11th, 2022 6:04 PM Author: 180 Fat Ankles Pit you have to define 'donbas' more precisely. donetsk and lugansk oblasts are lines on the map, but russia's strategic goals might involve leaving behind some salients/pockets for a long time. eg, they're not moving yet on the town of avdiivka, even though it is quite close to donetsk city itself, because the goal seems to be to 'fix' a bunch of ukraine forces in place and bleed them out with artillery strikes. Date: June 11th, 2022 6:09 PM Author: 180 Fat Ankles Pit maybe not, because donetsk goes pretty far to the west relative to lugansk. russia's strategy is to use firepower to beat down the other side and gradually overtake key points on the map, rather than just patches of land as such. they may seize areas of other oblasts before that much of donetsk gets formally taken. Date: June 11th, 2022 6:14 PM Author: zippy duck-like lay Yep, that is what I am thinking too. Russia might not be able to push far enough West to capture all of the Donetsk oblast. They might be content enough with their landbridge that they dont feel the need to push West.
Still I am sticking with this bet, anything could happen in the next 6 weeks. I got in at 15cents so it has high upside... the money will 7X |
