trump will be pissed, but who cares at this point? trump is totally fucking done for. MAGA is dead as a doornail now. it's obviously been dead since january 2025, but this made it official.

I just read entire thing ljl, first I saw DeSantis shitting on GOP and was like wtf. Now JD even. Its hilarious, their must be some strategy behind this for 2028 like they are both trying to eventually just blame everything on Orange Retard and say "its not my fault"

Fuck this motherfucker. He has a constitutionally protected position of power and direct responsibility to the electorate for the promises that got the administration elected
The courage we need in our elected officials, even relative figureheads like the VP, is to be honest, transparent, and to do their damnedest to deliver on whatever it is that they promised to get elected
He could have become a pillar to build upon if he had broken with the president publicly and done everything he could to call attention to, and deal with, all of the corruption. Instead, he failed to exercise the power that he had and disqualified himself by proving to be a coward and a lickspittle
Date: November 4th, 2026 11:47 AM Author: Fucking Fuckface
You break with the President when he launches a war of choice on false pretenses. You do the same when he reneges on addressing affordability. You do the same when he sells us out to Israel. You do NOT go along with broken promises that you were elected not to break. Pretty simple
You have unprotected Congressmen like Massie and MJT who can do it and who did do it. If you can't match that courage as the one who actually made the promises to the American people, then get the fuck outta here. You're disqualified
Being a good politician is all about building a bigger tent and winning people over to your cause, it's not about pissing people off. JD needs to bring the die hard Trumpmos AND the independents. And he's playing this exactly right. Doing what you are suggesting would alienate a big chunk or hardcore republicans.
Date: November 4th, 2026 11:57 AM Author: Fucking Fuckface
Do you not realize that the wipeout from last night was caused by alienating a big chunk of hardcore republicans by gleefully doing the exact opposite of what was promised?
What the fuck is going on here?
Essentially everyone wanted what was promised. It's why they fucking won the way they did. You wouldn't lose shit if you did everything you could to execute it
Yes, I do realize it. These are different chunks. Some people are mad and just want what was promised. Some people are stubbornly attached to the Trump brand. It's not a homogenous group. To win, JD needs to keep them all.

You're talking about being a "good politician" and backstopping that thought process with not understanding the wipe out or what good politics would be
You don't widen the tent by playing to the committed hardcore few who will vote R no matter what. You correctly noted that above. Not coming out against the shit that drove the wave (corruption, war, israel ass kissing, inflation, not caring about higher gas prices, etc.) is not good politics. It's the opposite
Each of us probably feels like we're in bizarro world in this conversation. I take from the drubbing that what has been going on is deeply unpopular and inimical to broad support. You seem to take away that you expand the tent by admitting no fault and catering to the base. I don't get it, but it's a genuine difference of opinion

"Loyal" to who? The fucking people, the fucking promises made to them, and the constitution. Not to the President, or the president's wealth or the president's desire to exercise unrestrained power contrary to everything that was promised

i agree with you, fucking fuckface.
vance is trying to salvage his chances for 2028 and it won't work. he's a fucking dorky retard to begin with so not sure he ever had a shot, but he has zero chance now. he should have gone public and told the public he wasn't on board with the war. but he went along with it and watched trump engage in all sorts of self-dealing and corruption. how convenient he starts distancing himself from it once it's been defeated at the ballot box.
JD had me after his EU speech. He understands free speech and America's role in protecting freedom around the world (unironically) in a way Trump never did. He also genuinely understands and has sympathy for middle and lower class americans. And he knows how to be a good politician and make allies rather than pissing off everyone he meets.
Good start. But need a lot more. If he is able to abolish H1B before the new Congress takes effect (before Jan), he will be in good standing to win in 2028.

Vance vs Ossoff would be interesting because it'd be two candidates who are more-or-less entirely created from thin air. Neither has done anything particularly impressive in their lives and are effectively media creations.

Vance was a marine, went to YLS and made some money in private equity and got elected to the senate and then VP. Thats not bad. I dont know much about Ossoff's bio.
jd was a military journalist and sucked off peter thiel for a few million in vc funds. what companies did he even fund?
on vance's service:
Vance deployed to Iraq in 2005 for six months as a combat correspondent, writing articles and taking photos for the public affairs office. He went by James Hamel while in the Marines.
In his book, Vance wrote that he was lucky to escape fighting, but he recalled a moment when he was sent out with a civil affairs unit to do community outreach in an Iraqi community, which he said was an important reminder of how lucky he actually was.

Great summary. Vance is basically a really shitty version of a Manchurian Candidate. There's no "there" there. Fuentes is right when he says he had a total no show job in VC.

NICK as usual had a great take on this, and it's that vance is fucking done here in politics. there's no case for him to make. he toed the line on the war, so any narrative he now tries to spin about how he was ackshually against it is bullshit. his admin was the reason that republicans have gotten semi-permafucked. who the fuck wants to see this assclown vance in 2028?

I like Vance and don't think this is his fault, but politics is all about playing the odds and tying your fortunes to the right people and betting on the right horses at the right time.
I STILL like Vance (fuentes never has), but last night might be game over for him.

Trump better get used to it, everyone is going to be looking to put the knife in him as they look toward 2028
vance, i appreciate the message and i do believe he legitimately was against the war, but he's too tainted by the stink of the trump admin for this to matter now. it would have been bolder for him to come out with this when the war actually started
