Having established that, Trump could very well be doing what he has done a million times before on a million other issues: Take some completely outrageous position, purposely use it stir up a ton of public/ press outrage, and then end up "settling" for a much more moderate end result (which was almost certainly what he was aiming for in the first place) that ends up being far easier for him to achieve because "at least it's not that crazy shit he was saying last week..." It's a negotiation tactic as old as time itself, and he's been pulling that same schtick on the Canada stuff ("We shouuld really just invade and occupy and make it the 51st State!") for like two weeks now. Amazingly, it only works because the "brilliant" Shitlib Jewish contingent still seems to fall for it every single time he does it, and this thread will probably end up being Exhibit #98797683 in support of that thesis.
3. Fuck Israel, Free Palestine, and if Trump actually moves forward with this idea *in a meaningful and tangible way* then I will be the first to repudiate him for it and disavow. But until that happens, this is just more meaningless words that don't change anything in the real world other than stirring people up (which is probably Trump's entire aim). |
