some of them got quiet and evasive, some of them got agitated, and even some of the white chicks weren't aware of the extent of all that stuff.
i guess there were some blacks that were pissed at Rock for pulling back the curtain.
having not spent any time around many black people and almost no black girls, i was totally clueless.
i remember getting some shitlibs mad as fuck in college after i saw that movie...class discussion got focused on those studies of little kids and what Barbie dolls they pick to play with and how that somehow shows the institutional racism and how early it manifests itself and blah blah blah. I guess black girls were picking non-black Barbies too.
I had to fight off the horde when I brought up the possibility that maybe the kids just wanted dolls that they could actually play with and comb/style the hair. |

The whole thing was super interesting to me... mainly because I literally had no clue. Haven't spent hardly any time around black women in my entire life.
I thought it was actually really well done.
Have never seen a jew recoil when you point out they're jewish. Had no idea that half my fraternity was jewish (I didn't even know jewish surnames at the time) and told a group of guys that joke ... "Easy on the Auschwitz talk... my great uncle died there. Yeah he fell off the guard tower." Not even a courtesy laugh. "You're all jewish, right?"
"Of course... how didn't you know?"
"I don't know..." then I was given a quick jewish identification lesson.
