Vice-esque youth-oriented coverage from an anti-Russian but still slavophilic set of perspectives. A few of the guys they employed were pariahs in mainstream journalism despite clearly being very talented and that acerbic booze-fueled tenor was the whole gist of what they were going for with it Sad and unethical blue-on-blue backbiting when journalists wind up censoring each other, but that was also the norm for decades. This sort of thing somehow becoming the norm and striking against the spirit that underpins freedom of the press has been disastrous for the public perception of journalists and the "journalistic ethos" in the public eye |
