My car broke down on me last month, got fucked over by mechanics, then dealer, spent around £2000 fixing it + like 500ish on cabs, 200 insurance hauling it around trying to hold down my job
Have around £5.8k ($7600) in debt atm between overdraft and one CC. (1500 overdraft, 4200 cc)
My current salary is £35000 gross £2300/mo base after tax I work 48hrs a week, with option to do overtime now & again
Expenses atm
Car note: 250 Insurance: 100 Council Tax: 225 Internet: 50 Phone: 50 Utilities: 200 Total Fixed: £875
Essentials Groceries: 250 Transport: 120 Toiletries/household: 40 Misc essential: 50 Total Essentials: £460 (£1,335)
My current job offers me a lot of overtime at 1.5x my hourly, so around £200 a day. I'd be able to aggressively pay down my debts in around 3 months just doing a few extra shifts. So I should have no problem paying down my debt in a normal scenario
Problem for me is, my mom keeps calling me asking for cash. I've sent her probably 10k, asks for like 500-600 monthly and mid month. I cant bring myself to say no. On top of the car stuff, im sliding into debt rapidly combined with yuge tax deductions when I try to work a lot She lives overseas and is taking care of my grandma whos basically dying. I live in a house she copped in a divorce, so its basically like "rent" but she never demands it.
My last three payslips were deducted from £4700 gross to £3500 between loans, tax, NI
I figure a few k to ballers here would be chump change, but for me it would basically clear my cc and set me free from this debt + tax spiral. Mom told me she'd stop asking for $ eoy, I can manage it, but Ive just been hit hard these few months. Also got pwned last Oct by a flood which wiped me out, I had just recovered but now sliding back into debt over past 3/mos
Long shot but someone helped me out here a few years back when I had $0 while I copped the jerb above. I dont have anyone else I can ask
