Metroid literally sells like 1.5 million units. 3D metroid that is. Dread did better. It's a huge amount of effort for no payoff. Basically has no purpose but to be a prestige title for Losers. And it actually diminishes Nintendo's prestige in the East bc it's western-developed.
Also after 17 years why not reboot it? The "4" scares me away from it. I'm not playing 1-3. That would be Grueling. They're western-developed ffs. |

There is literally no reason why they both flew under the radar other than the fact that MP1 was overrated and people bought, but didn't really like it. Same reason why FF9 didn't really land — because people were OVER IT after the Ruin of FF8.
The Sales Failure of MP2-3 was why they gave Other M to Easterners. But then since it was a Wii game it had you running at the camera or something and westerners just wished it would have FPS view.
I don't think there's really any story to Prime btw and at that point I would just be skipping cutscenes.
Btw Dread was decent and the Fandom hated the slightly difficult parts. iirc I beat it on Hard. doodikoff is afraid of it. |
