seems like it works pretty well so long as they have the global unipower writing unlimited checks and offering unlimited love. my bet is the boomers are the last hurrah of that status quo, however, and that sometime in the 30s or 40s israel is going to find itself very much surrounded and outnumbered and all on its own. Latinos have NO affinity for Jews born out of some amorphous guilt about WWII or based on the "Catholics, Protestant and Jews" view of American civil religion. Asians-- leaving aside AZN women-- same. Africans (and native blacks)-- lol, no! In fact, they lean muslim. The most fervid Non-Jew support for Israel comes largely from one group-- white evangelicals and fundies, who Jews despise BTW. Their influence wanes as the US becomes more secular and shitlib by the day.
