Date: February 3rd, 2015 10:50 PM Author: mentally impaired curious point the bro planned this far ahead of time and executed well. in the spring he had his office moved to be a less trafficked place by offering his spot to a more senior gunner. played it off like he had been passed over/squeezed out and had a legitimate gripe. partners stopped riding him so hard for a bit. summer program hits and he throws a few emails and public appearances w the program that cast him as a very involved recruiter, so when he started taking 3 hr lunches and dipping out at 4 or w/e it wasn't questioned out right, and he was obviously not pushing himself to turn any documents.
the first week after the end of the summer program he began to put up a series of false pretenses so that he wouldn't be staffed too hard while he made a quiet exit. I think he then scheduled/announced a 3 or 4 day weekend every weekend, with a full week thrown in there. After the end of August, people had stopped staffing him altogether. He ceased showing up at that point other than around like 10-11 (full suit) to turn on the lights and computer, look alive. then, by end of september, nothing. he claims they did not cut off his paycheck until thanksgiving. |

I thought this was a 180 move and imagined it from her perspective-- every morning, she woke up and checked her bank account, only to find out that the bonus had not been deposited yet and therefore she was waiting at least one more day to give "notice." Finally, the fateful day came. She came in, told the managing partner she was leaving, and bailed at like 11 AM.
The managing partner was furious and raised the possibility with general counsel of trying to reverse the deposit into her bank account (!!!). I was aware of these rumors swirling and, on the sly, told her that just in case she should probably tell her bank that her checkbook was stolen and to change her account number, or something like that. Reportedly, though, the general counsel shot this idea down.
The best part? Obviously, the lack of notice meant that there was no time to transition her matters, one of which was some bullshit "business development" article that was due in like two months. The associate that it fell to was instructed to call her and get as much information as possible from her on where the article was going and what it should look like. Not flame. |

He than was on the phone with co-counsel going back and forth about the undisputed facts and disputed facts, exhibits, and what not.
The associate got so frazzled trying align the spacing b/c partner kept nitpicking the lining of the numbers and text he said I CANT TAKE THIS I CANT TAKE THIS and left.
they seriously called him back and had HR talk to him and like they brought in a psychologist to talk to him. It was really weird. The partner even apologized to the guy. I think they gave him like 2 extra weeks off. I guess this isn't really on point but he basically quit but got talked back into coming through brainwashing by the therapist. |
