He's partly right though. If you exclude the overentitled GM workers, who represent a very small portion of our overall workforce, decent white collar professions usually have extremely little protection regarding their careers. It's left at the whims of VPs and directors. Same with outsourcing.

They aren't the cause of this recession of course, and a protectionist policy is usually short sighted in some ways, but they definitely dont help the job situation.
