There is a whole world of wonder and knowledge out there that we ALL have access to no matter what anyone tells you. If you hit a roadblock find another way or be the force to knock it out of the way. Learn to be a positive force in this world not a negative one or a complacent one. However, after sometime to reminisce, I realized in addition to the lack of an indictment, I am truly upset at HOW the verdict was delivered; and that it was clearly a calculated maneuver by the powers that be to use the media in order to vilify all protesters in Ferguson, therefore justifying the grand jury’s verdict as well as the killing of Michael Brown. CNN had an article titled, “Why was the announcement delayed?” and my first reaction was “because fires are visible at night.” There were so many forces in play that decided that any reaction to a verdict would be unruly that peaceful protests never stood a chance of gaining any sort of meaningful recognition in the media. A state of emergency was declared and the National Guard was moved in before a verdict was delivered, tensions had been building in the press for the past week about ‘when will the decision be made?’ and breaking down various ‘states of unrest.’ Additionally, why would you release a verdict at nighttime when all figures are viewed as ‘shadowy,’ and it is harder to identify and restrict incidents of crime, if you didn’t want protests to break out into fire-laced riots?

Personal outrage aside, the coverage by the media has been shameful, with everyone all-but-encouraging or assuming there was no other result other than riots; even when time and time again the one day of riots in August was proven to be individuals not even from Ferguson. I am upset at our so called systems of justice, I am saddened for so many peaceful protesters and families whose voices where ignored and tears unanswered, and I am disgusted at the media for their divisiveness.

It’s a helluva world we live in. And it seems harder and harder to refer to it as civilized.
