It's one of those things that seems overwhelming at first, but after you read everything over 5-6 times, things start coming together and you just start to remember a lot...more than you expected.

I think many people think it takes really long because most don't really put in a solid 60-70 hrs a week. A lot of Facebook/Instagram/Gchat/texting going on during study sessions.

Why spend so much time on practice problems? Once you know the law cold, you won't need an entire months worth of practice....spending the last 2-3 weeks on practice is enough.

You have to read the materials over and over. After reading everything 5-6 times, youll start to remember a lot. Also, try to eliminate material that doesnt seem essential.

Bro, just focus on memorizing the law for the next 5-6 weeks and worry about practice exams later. While doing practice questions helps you get comfortable with the format and time constraints, knowing the actual law/rules cold is what really gets you a pass.

Someone who knows the law/rules cold could probably pass with ease despite doing few/no practice exams.

Doing MBE practice doesn't mean jack shit if you don't know the law/rules very well. I know of people who did a ton of MBE practice and still failed. Why? Because they didn't bother to learn the law/rules cold.

That said, memorizing outlines or flashcards should be the first priority (the first 4-6 weeks of your bar prep)....THEN one can focus on practice exams. Of course, I realize some people learn best by trying to learn he law by doing practice questions and then reviewing the answers, but I think that's a pretty lousy way to go about learning the law since you'll only get bits and pieces rather than everything being in order. Personally, I like memorizing all of the outlines before doing any actual practice.

If you're taking a commercial prep course, just use the fill-in handouts to study from and try to memorize those for the next 4-5 weeks. They usually contain everything you'll need to know and provide examples to help see how a particular rule is applied.

If you can memorize the handouts, you'll probably end up scoring like 150+ on the MBE and scoring above average on the essays (it's seemingly easy to score well on bar essays even if you're not that good of a writer as long as you discuss many issues, which is usually easy if you actually know the law/rules)....even if you don't end up doing many practice questions. However, you should be doing a ton of practice questions the last 2 weeks or so before the actual exam.

That's not recommended unless one is a top law school grad (t14) who actually did well in law school, retained a lot of the material, and just needs to brush up on a few areas (or learn the state specific topics). Bros who just did okay in law school or who don't really remember much from 1L will usually need more than 3 weeks of prep time to pass. For the average law grad, at least 6 weeks of solid study (40-50 hrs a week) should be done to ensure a pass.

I don't see why one wouldn't just put in the time now and ensure a pass. Ensure you pass and get it out of the way....otherwise, you'll have to wait another 7 months before the Feb. exam which means you probably won't be admitted until next May or something.
