Christianity bears the theological burden of incorporating all of the Old Testament's doctrine of God, and merging it with the far more elaborate and complex Trinitarian theology. Or all of the Old Testament's legal and ethical theory, and merging it with a much more elevated morality not simply of external obedience but of an internally changed will.

In other words, Christianity has to account for the ENTIRE foundation of everything Judaism is concerned with, and then on top of that find ways of making that compatible with - while still distinguishing it from - the more profound truths of Christianity.
