This was also when the SEC was still firmly committed to dinosaur era offenses and the rest of the country was trying to find the next Andrew Luck. But the big Texas schools not offering Mahomes is a wildly underdiscussed epic pants-shitting moment. Texas especially. Their QB room was literally Case McCoy, Tyrone Swoopes, David Ash and Jerrod Heard when Mahomes was in his Junior-Senior year of high school.
