I went to a presentation by an Israeli diplomat not too long ago and half of the post-speech discussion time was him taking panicky questions from local Jew notables who were legitimately spooked by the movement

Part of it is also internal Jew political wrangling as well---the hardliners are using it as a scary boogeyman to pull more right-leaning Jews towards their pole on the axis, you have to remember that these ultranat Jews have no qualms about tricking and cajoling their own, should it serve their aims

We see our friend Upset Jew fall for these types of in-tribe scare-mongering tactics for many of the "Israel's Existential Threat of the Week" (this week, Palestinian ice cream!) events, for example---he's not necessarily being malicious, he's just worked up and in a panic over Trusted Signals that he's received from in-group tribal sources. It's normal behavior, we have Jews and Gentiles who do it here over their pet causes as well. (and in his defense, Israel is in a perilous geopolitical situation. less so than before the de-facto annexation of the territories occupied during their wars in the 70s, but there still are moderately dangerous threats about. israel supporters aren't necessarily wrong to be vigilant.)

I have no doubt that the rank and file pro-Israel Jews legitimately believe that XYZ policy or event really is a dire threat to Israel's continued existence---a mixture of what i described above and the "Never again!" conditioning that they receive standard as part of their peculiar "cultural education" produces many Jews who are incapable of looking at criticism of Israel or the Jews in a more objective light (or even capable of playing Devil's advocate for the other side)

Think of it as being in the same vein as the Progressives and their mental block when it comes to "racism" and the other -isms, many of the psychological mechanisms at play are very similar

**i'd just like to point out rq that our understanding of Jews as being higher IQ than the average Gentile causes many xoers/Jew-bashers to chalk social idiocy or speech-without-thought on the part of a Jewish speaker/writer/etc up to sheer maliciousness rather than cognitive errors or socio-cultural conditioning.
