But for more domain specific stuff, some libraries are lacking. Sometimes you need to roll your own, and sometimes you need to modify their source / override their methods.
Take deep learning for instance. Sure you can use a generic transformer class out of the box from TensorFlow or PyTorch. But Facebook AI doesn't use that stuff, neither does HuggingFace. They roll their own implementations. |
