If you live in a city, it's acceptable to be in an apartment building.
If you live in the suburbs, the whole point is to have a house with a yard.
Shitty "garden style" apartment complexes in the suburbs with sprawling parking lots are depressing as hell. |

Always made me depressed thinking of the middle manager bro working at Best Buy in the Irvine Company apartment. He could have saved a few hundred on the identical layout apartment, but for just a little more a month across the street he gets different door knobs out to his county-jail sized balcony, and hey, a game room in the communal space. The third burner in the bbq area is always out, but he still comes out to avoid hearing his neighbors scream about the beer money through the paper mache walls then hate fucking it out over his head making his air purifier crackle a bit. For our higher level positions, you are right. You can go through an entire interview process and essentially get the job before being asked to fill out a job app - which will help the comp run background checks, EEO requirements, other red tape. Essentially, "we are going to make you an offer but just fill out the job app. Then we will extend the offer." |
