I guess my point was that I don't think any other gymnast, going into these Olympics, had any expectation of winning. Nobody else had won anything for five years and, as of a month ago, Biles seemed to be on top of her game.
That long term and recent track record doesn't guarantee anything but it does speak to others' expectations. |

Sometimes in gymnastics you have a person who's doing something on one event that no one else can do. Usually this person is an even specialist and isn't even competing in the all around.
Biles was doing stuff like that on 2 or 3 events. |
