He did his time and for much of that could have been ordered overseas. At the tail end of it when he had kids and was able to retire Bush decided to launch a stupid war against 15 year old goat herders and he tapped out.
The VAST majority of ppl in the armed forces don’t fight in combat. Vance didn’t, Buttigieg didn’t. Biden Trump Obama Clinton didn’t join. The last actual brave fighting president was HW.
This just seems stupid to attack Walz over.

1. He collected paychecks for 20 years to be on call to serve his country, he was trained to lead his troop into battle, he told his commander he was going to lead them into battle, and then the 1 time they were actually called to go to battle, he went around his commander to retire. Does it mean he's a bad person? No. But it's like Kamala failing the bar exam. They both making being a lawyer/soldier their story - well, why don't we get a lawyer/soldier who didn't fail the bar or who didn't quit right before they were actually sent to a war zone?
2. He's been caught several times implying he served in war when it would benefit him politically - in a couple of statements crossing the line to outright lies. The one that really grossed me out was when he told an interviewer "I was in charge of a group of soldiers that went on to fight in Iraq." It's gross.
3. The rank thing seems the dumbest to me, but on the other side, why is he using that rank he knows he was demoted from in his official Twitter bio? If you care enough that you put it in your 10 word Twitter bio then those 10 words should be accuarate? |

Date: August 12th, 2024 1:28 PM Author: garnet 180 dingle berry principal's office 2 and 3 are the biggest ones to me. despite 1 being a bit slimey, i don't really fault anyone for dodging serving in the middle east, and i don't think that eviscerates the prior 24 years he did spend serving. which i won't even put in quotes since he never implied he was anything more than a weekend warrior at the national guard.
but 2 and 3 are intentional deceptions calculated to imply something he wasn't and didn't do. and they were happening in 2024. even if i thought he was a piece of shit for dodging the middle east i'd overlook it if it was 20+ years ago. |
