Higher consumer goods prices hurt poors more than they hurt the owner class, since poors spend twice as much of their income on goods as the wealthy do. And lost manufacturing jobs in upstream industries such as the construction and airplane industry (lumber, copper, steel, aluminum tariffs) hurt lower-middle-class blue-collar types.
And that's before factoring in the retaliatory tariffs that destroy jobs by killing exports like airplanes and soybeans.
