They're getting out of the military with a ton of leadership experience and a pension that gives them a lot of flexibility. In theory, they could be doing some great things. But you don't really hear about that. Some run for political office but not many. A lot seem to just fade away. What else do they do? The big tech companies hire some of them as sales guys (rarely lasts beyond a couple years).
