If you have one 20K line monolith it becomes unwieldy to work on plus something breaks and the whole thing is fucked. doesn't really matter as much anymore codex just creates all the different files and directories and architecture on its own its lol. First model outside anthropic and open ai that is mythos/astra class and is cheap. Still can't beat the 100 dollar per month plan in codex though, you can use thousands worth of api tokens in a month on it.
