"While countless bad things exist across Greece, nothing is worse than athletic competition. Firstly they do not know how to live well nor would they be able to do so; for how could a man who is a slave of his jaw and weaker than his belly acquire prosperity beyond his father? Additionally they are not capable of working for a living and making the best of fortune, because they have not learnt good customs and hence change with difficulty when facing a lack of resources. They are illustrious in their youth and go back and forth as statutes of the city. But when bitter old age falls upon them, their humble cloaks are no more through a loss of thread. Also, I blame the custom of the Greeks, who gather together for these men and honour useless pleasures for the sake of a feast. Who by wrestling well or being swift footed or by punching a jaw finely aided his paternal city through the winning of a crown? Will they fight the enemy in their hands or repel them from the fatherland by striking between the shields with their hands? In this no one is silly when standing before the spear. Wise and good men must be wreathed with leaves, along with him who, being a moderate and just man, leads his city very finely and the man who puts away bad deeds with words and diminishes battles and civil wars, for such things are fine both for every city and every one of the Greeks."

even if we can't speak greek, we can make a correspondence to our letters and greek, and after time, would be able to communicate crudely. since there are many SCHOLARS here we know about plato, aristotle, the presocratics and homer, we would be impress them with what we knew. after we got past the language barrier somewhat, we could teach them important things like penicillin, gunpowder, how to make electricity from turbines, improved smelting techniques. we could teach them Newtonian physics, basic biology and chemistry, we could tech them about basic algebra and calculus. assuming we didn't get die, within a year, we'd be considered gods.

Modern archaeologists would write volumes on the significance of the cryptic message carved into over 850 monuments, cave walls, and cliff sides all across Greece that date to between 300 and 280 BC:

it's sad that i don't think i could advance mathematics past euclid at all.
but i think you write down general thoughts about what you know about history and modern tech that would sow seeds of inspiration that would advance science by 500 years.

Proofs yeah maybe...but I could probably derive a fair amount.
And they'd be able to help you out once they saw the end point.
I also was apparently one of the top undergrads in math proofs at my T14.

Most would sit around all day and complain about random topics, all while unable to find employment ... same as here.
The azns would be NOWAGed ... same as here.
lisa rowe, bluesmoke, and the rest of the drug addicts would start walking to Delphi to breath in the gasses and become oracles. They would say the same things there they currently say here.

Semi-srs response:
-A good number of us would die from various ailments, but not all. Adults are generally pretty sturdy against disease and we generally have okay immune systems since we all got sick (we just had treatments and didn't die). We're vaccinated against many ailments.
-We would have a lot of initial difficulties communicating in Greek, but at least some of us could start rudimentary communications and eventually become fluent. It helps that this being ancient times the needed language is a great deal simpler.
-Being both moderns and mostly poli-sci shitheads we would struggle to help science advance in terms of INTELLECTUAL HORSEPOWER, but we could still do a great deal simply by explaining what is common knowledge in the future. Even rudimentary HS and college knowledge would enable huge advances in:
Medicine: Germ theory, what body systems do
Physics: Atomic theory, basic Newtonian physics as well as relativity
Chemistry: Elements and the idea of chemical reactions. We could potentially help create basic but influential compounds like gunpowder.
Biology: Cells, genetics, evolution, ecology
Astronomy: Basically everything
Geography: A far more accurate world map even if we're stuck trying to hash it out on paper or something. If we have a map with us, so much the better.
Economics: Concepts like inflation, supply and demand, price bubbles, joint stock companies, banking, etc.
Engineering: Some simple machines could potentially be pushed along by simply explaining the end result. Maybe even a steam engine would be possible.
Military tech: The stirrup would be a big one, if nothing else. If we're pre-Philip, so would the sarissa and pike phalanxes. EDIT: Just noticed this is in 300 BC, so Philip's stuff would have already happened. Ignore that.
...and so forth.
-Benzo would give lots of people HIV, which would be pretty goddamn crippling and likely lead to a huge crackdown on homosexuality as practice cursed by God (this being XO, we would probably end up encouraging this belief).
-We would blame our return to the past on "shitlibs" who destroyed the future, and would describe their beliefs and how they ruined the world. This would ensure shitlibs are never allowed to rise again.
